Templates and examples

University departments are not required to use any of the web page templates provided in this style manual. These templates are intended as a starting point for departments and as examples for designers.

All of the templates listed on this page meet the minimum standards stated elsewhere in this style manual. Many also illustrate core and extended recommendations. The templates are roughly in order from simplest to most complex.

Most of these examples show a "Department Name" in small text and a "Page Title" in large text. On a department's home page, the page title would be the name of the department (in large text).

  1. Templates without graphics
    • Template 1.1: Page with University name, department name, and page title.
  2. Templates with simple header and footer bars
  3. Templates with full page borders
(These templates cannot be edited in Netscape Composer.)
  4. Templates that stretch horizontally to fill a page
    • Template 4.1: Page with large header and narrow footer bar.
